NEON NIGHT GOLF HITS KENTUCKY:

Another summer evening in August and around 40 players lined up for a friendly night golf event at Glenn Eagle Golf course here in La Grange Kentucky. The final hole featured a shot to the practice putting green followed by our first ever cosmic putting competition for the finalists. We lined the fairway with night lights so it looked like a airport landing strip. Players were actually given three shots to get closest to the hole. A very tough short sided wedge shot…and it was at night. No easy task. Here are some shots of our glowing fairway and tee box.

How do you put on a putting competion at night? I think we have come up with the answer. We call it ‘night golf in a box’ or simply cosmic putting. We call it cosmic putting because we lighting up neon putting track with our mobile black lights. The putting tracks fit together like big legos and create any number of holes. This was our first prototyping event with our first sample tracks. This is a simple video of the finals where players had to hit about a 10ft lag shot, them make a left handed, down hill banker shot to the pin about 20 feet down grain. It was no easy putting hole but it looked pretty cool. Everyone had a blast because players stayed around for more than an hour until it came down to two players and a putt off. The winner made banker hole in one. We can’t wait to showcase our complete course with full banking and black lighting in the near future.
